I'll have to hurry!

This is a shot of the lake were we tried to fish, but the rain would not go away, albeit Em and Jake sang their hearts out "Rain Rain go away come again another day".
Me and the Mackster..what a girl!
Stealing a kiss from Princess Laya
Jake's award from graduation.
So proud of all of them.
Time is flying away, got lots more hugs to collect.
Guess I'm gonna have to buy me a throw
away camera, or wait til she's asleep again.

OK OK OK!

Here I am! In Alaska! With the newest K-5 Grad with the Principal's award hanging around her neck. Jame said we were getting chastised for not blogging, sorry we have been on the go. Two graduation ceremonies, a dance recital. And to top it off I was sick, lord was I sick. I missed an entire day. It's been rainy and nasty cold. Glad I brought the turtlenecks! We are taking today off, then got some big plans. Will try to do better. I've seen some neat birds and maybe I'll get some pics, if I can pry her hands off the dang camera!
The kids are wonderful, my mom is hanging close to home..we move way to fast for her, Jame and the girls have bad colds, Shane is on a little, much needed, R&R with his buddies and Jacob is like a perpetual bouncing ball. There now you are caught up. Be back soon, I hope.

My bags are packed, I'm ready to go..

I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again!
(Really I do but I not thinking about that just yet.)Headed to the hopefully thawing Tundra.
So this will be my last post for a little while, unless I can post from Jamie's??
I'll have to use her camera too,
Cause my baby is staying all tucked in at home!
Takin' no chances.
Any requests, Jan's put in for Moose Poop Earrings. :o)

A Different Bird

Not a great photo, but I caught my neighbor leaving his house this morning. When he is headed to FL he takes off from his house and makes a U-Turn right over our house. Flies more than he drives. Both of my kids have flown with him and his family. He use to pick the kids up from school in the plane! Crazy!

This is the bird I was trying to get when I got the "different" bird.
Love the Red birds.
I was using the 300 lens, the photo seems a bit out of focus to me.
But it's the only shot I got.

It's ready!

Well, almost.
Wayne still has to put the ladder and the handrail up.
But the water is clear and I bet very cold!
All the chemicals have leveled off and we should be good to go! I know that Luke and Charlie will be glad to see the clear blue water.
Jake, Em, and Mac will have to admire from a far for a little while longer.

These Boots are made for Plantin'

And that's just what I did!
This is my Mother's Day gift from Jeff, Heather and the boys.

The plants had to be drought tolerant
due to the small dirt space so I chose lavender and lemon sage.
The funny part is I saw the boots time as we drove up in their yard.
I thought to myself "Lord, Jeff's got a big foot".
Then he said this is your MD Present...and handed them to me, they weigh a ton.
I really like the boots, they look so real.
What a neat gift and an interesting planter at the backdoor.
Thanks guys!

Boys? Men? Any Difference?

It never fails, when they get together it is always one kind of contest or another. On Saturday it was the always popular "my muscle's are bigger than yours" episode.

99.99% of the time Dad starts it!

You must comply, he will not stop until you do, so as you can see Jeff reluctantly complies....
Not because his muscles are not bigger, but because he stands no chance of winning...no matter what.

Then as it always does there is a joke made, and Jeff lets Dad win. I love it, they love, Charlie, Luke and Jacob better love it cause it's coming.

Up Close

John Lucas
"Luke"
It was so hot on Saturday Luke was sweating big time.
His hair was soaking wet, I love this close up of him.
He is so sweet, he always hates for us to leave, and we hate leaving him too.
Charles Jeffrey
"Charlie"

Got close -up of Charlie boy by accident but, I liked it.
Jeff called today and said Charlie got sick after we left,
so I hope you're feeling better Charlie Boy.

Eyelashes to die for!

Is this Heather or what?

Sittin' with Pop at the big games

We went to see the boys play ball today.
Luke had finished his game and was sittin' with Pop watching Charlie play.
Heather and I thought it was so cute that
Luke and Pop had the their legs crossed exactly alike.
Charlie playing Shortstop. His team won 11 to 3.
These fields are part of a complex at The Community Church.
They offer the fields to the Carolina Forest Community for the kids to play baseball. The National Anthem is played, Scripture is read and a prayer is said before every game.
Jeff said this Church has grown to about 800 to 1000 members partly because of the Church's involvement with the community through this outreach. Hmm.
Here's a hurricane named LUKE.
It was funny watching these little ones play.
Luke can really hit the ball.
He slides into home every time! Look at this left leg for the proof.

On Amy's Turf

Posting early today, we are headed to MB,SC to a BDP and to take in two baseball games.
I had to go to LMG to pickup a Rx yesterday and I noticed these beautiful Hydrangeas.

I just happened to have my camera in the car.
I put on my sunshades and looked to see if ASW was around...
The coast was clear, so here they are.

I love the dark green leaves and blue flower.
They remind me of my grandmother.
She grew these in her yard, they were huge.

Happy Birthday Charlie!

The Big "1" "0".Yes, that's a little green snake he has in his hand,
Jeff caught it while we were in GA the other day.
(and that is Luke reaching to pet the snake! Boys!)
Note: To Charlie, We love you very much. Poppie and I remember waiting at the hospital for your arrival 10 years ago, We did not know your name then but we knew you would be special you were our first grandbaby. We are proud of you and we'll see you tomorrow and can't wait to see you play ball.
Happy Birthday to you, you look like a monkey and you smell like one, too. From: Guess who!

Progress Report

I posted a picture on March 13, 2007 of the guys planting these tomatoes.
Pretty soon there will be green tomatoes on the vines
and then they will turn
RED
and all we will eat is BLT's Yummy!
Lots and Lots of rows and rows of lots and lots of tomato plants.
When you enlarge this picture there is a little surprise in it can you find it?

Newcomer

This guy showed up at the watering hole the other day.
I had not seen this kind of bird at the fountain or feeder before, so I had to look him up. He's a Yellow-throated Warbler.
My book said they are usually only found
in the northern most parts of SC. Guess he was on a road, uhh air, trip.
He didn't stay long and I have not seen him again.
I love birds, I am always looking for them.
He's a new one to add to my list of "bird visitors".
but I'm with Amy I like to see them in their
natural setting as much as possible.
The picture is a bit blurry but I am glad to have gotten it at all.

Don't Fence Me In

This blog is yet another shot of my time waiting in traffic.
I must admit though, they had things
moving a little better by Friday.
I saw these two slats of a picket fence, peaking out of the shrubs at the Beaufort Co. Board of Realtors office. I have to go there on occasion for work. I didn't see it until I was leaving so I made the block, what's one more block? And snapped this picture. I wish I could get these to pop like Amy, It's a goal of mine.

This is the Picket Fence on the right at Boundary street as you will recall I spent some time on this corner on Friday. I like it because of the Palmetto and the moss growing behind the fence.

I used the 300 lens on this fence..you guessed it, it is to the left of the corner as I sat waiting at the light on Friday.

This is my favorite.

Well, I have really covered the Charles at Boundary street scene. Depending where I get stuck this week, it may determine my blog subject.

He's Back with the Mrs.

I had a couple more of the Bunting, he was such a cutie.
I'm really proud of this one and the next one.
Looks like he is going to twist his head off.
You can see the water drops flying off his head.
It runs in the family, here's the Mrs. twisting her head
and flinging the water everywhere.

She's getting a drink, but keeping a watch out.

I meant to post these of the Mrs. in the opposite order,
but...I'm very tired, to tired for a do-over.
The white on the right is a flash reflection from the backdoor.

Painted Bunting Bath Time

Yippee! I got him. This little guy as been eluding me for months. He is very cautious. I got some really good shots. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did
(Wayne said I sounded like a kid giggling.)

Ame, I know you could really make these pop!
Can you believe how fast he is shaking?

This is one I was laughing at because it looks like he is scratching he back.

Let me see ya shake your tail feathers, while washing your face. I love it!

All done! He looks like a drowned rat!
I had another post ready, but I just loved these. I have some more
for a later post too.

Broken, Crowded, and Controlled!

The broken bridge. Ah, the cause of a lot of stress and ugly words being said! Wow, how I took this for granted. I have err, did have to go over this bridge at least twice a day.
Crowded, but working. Well, until a boat needs to get by. Hope Fed X made it on time! Old faithful. I have to go around town to get here, but glad we have it.
I sat at this light so long I was getting bored, so I took a picture of the "Control Police". I caught myself saying "come on cutie, make the switch". So he does, make the switch, hops into his car we wait some more....ha the light did not change. So he hops out of his car and switches the light again. Gives all of us, in the growing line, the thumbs up, (after I put the camera up, of course). He hops back in his car and finally we're off, him in front of me naturally! Guess it's back to the traffic on Monday because NO WAY am I going back this weekend!
This too shall pass! But you better not they will get you!
I hope it's legal to take a picture of the police!

Tufted Titmouse Hangin on!

I love to watch these guys hangin' on eating.Sorry about the post, but I was having a hard time catching him.
Watching them makes my neck hurt though. Looks like they are straining so hard.
You would think I would put the matching Bird feeder out on the other side of the post!
Perhaps next time, I'll get a better shot.

New Office Help??

Yep! A red bird flew into the house the other day. Landed right there on my desk. I thought Wayne was going to have a stroke. When he was a little boy his MaMa held him up to look in a Mocking Bird nest and the mother bird pecked his forehead, until it bled. She didn't know the bird was pecking him. Anyway, he hates birds!
The bird didn't get any filing done!
Thank goodness Charlie has no fear and came to the rescue, of both the bird and Poppie!
Had to throw this one of Luke in, he was helping Pop hook up the trailer.
(Jeff took the first pictures, with my camera, just wanted to give him the credit).
